Personal Trust Director – West Suburb of Chicago

The Personal Trust Director focuses on three main objectives: managing the Trust team, driving business growth, and integrating Trust Operations and Compliance practices. The location is flexible, with offices in West Chicago Suburbs and downtown Chicago.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage the Trust Team, which is made up of ten (10) sales and relationship managers, and operations personnel.
  • Oversee administrative activities related to estates, trusts, guardianships, and agency accounts.
  • Cultivate and leverage networks to establish and expand client relationships.
  • Directly manage or delegate client relationships to internal Trust advisors.
  • Foster relationships within the Wealth team to enhance service offerings.
  • Oversee the creation of financial plans for clients, including investment advice, risk management, and trust options.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory fiduciary policies.
  • Engage the team in continuous learning of trust, tax, and related subjects.
  • Regularly evaluate and improve complex processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Partner with EVP to create an annual budget and establish strategic goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  • JD, CFP, or CTFA is not required but strongly preferred.
  • 10 or more years of experience in Trust Administration, including management of people and processes
  • Advanced knowledge of estate and tax planning strategies, state and federal trust, tax, and financial regulations.
  • Client-focused with strong decision-making skills.
  • High level of confidentiality and privacy for client information.
  • Proactive relationship building and growth mindset with both clients and colleagues alike.
  • Superior attention to detail, organization and time management while being self-directed and accountable.
