Travelling Dog Handler Job Description

Marcilly Recruitment’s client, an UHNW couple in Kensington, is seeking a professional and energetic Travelling Dog Handler to be based between their homes in London and Italy, and travelling internationally when needed. You will be required to assist with their three dogs, two of them are 14 and the third (an Italian Greyhound) who is a few years old and needs training.

This is a live-in role in Italy or when travelling. Separate accommodation can also be provided in London if they are not a local resident. The travelling dog handler will spend about four months of the year in London, 5-6 in Italy and then travelling the remainder of the year.

You would have sole charge over three dogs. The couple have a garden and are situated right next to a park for ease. The dogs are well trained, but sometimes still require some behavioural management.

Salary: £60K-£80K, negotiable

Start date: February to March start 2026

Location: London & Italy + travelling

Hours: Standard working hours but the candidate must be flexible and willing to adapt to occasional changes in days and hours.

The UHNW client is looking for a proactive, calm and discreet individual with excellent attention to detail and a professional approach. It is a semi-formal household with exceptionally high standards.

Travelling Dog Handler Responsibilities:

· Dog handling/caring/walking/feeding for three dogs

· Must be able to drive worldwide

· Occasional ad-hoc jobs for the principals

· Flexibility is key

The successful Travelling Dog Handler must have previous experience working with dogs and the ability to train and manage behaviour if needed. They must be an animal lover who will be passionate about looking after the couple’s dogs like they are their own.
