Travel Physician Practice Coordinator
Assignment length- 13 weeks

Job Duties:
- Greets patients, collects co-pays/insurance cards, reconciles payments, maintains waiting room, manages patient flow
- Provides customer service actions such as scheduling first available appointments, handles all telephone interactions, triage calls by directing to appropriate individuals or departments, responds to patient questions and complaints, referring patient complaints appropriately to supervisor.
- Handles patient/MD correspondence, processes and tracks referrals, schedules patients with ancillary and specialty providers.
- Monitors work flow, assists in work assignments, recommends areas for improvement, interfaces/liaisons with other departments, assists in meeting/auditing
- Coordinates MD mentoring opportunities with fellows, students, etc.
- Works with the billing and HIS departments to provide information for requested chart audits
- Acts as the primary point of contact for patient and family members.
- Acts as a liaison between physician and patients in communicating medical concerns.
- Provides scheduling information, resource coordination, and support to patients before, during and after procedure(s).
- Provides health education materials including forms, videos, and articles to inform target population of health topic as directed by physician.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in an outpatient clinic or medical office
- Experience with heavy phone volume or call center
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- CPR/BLS
- Familiarity with insurance and ability to differentiate between HMO, PPO, POS.
