Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Operations of a food distribution service that services Northern California. They service restaurants, specialty food stores, delicatessens, and supermarkets throughout the area, values humility, service, quality, teamwork and being proactive members of the community. Established in 1978, with 100 associates, and a private fleet of 25 trucks, and over 20 drivers.
The Transportation & Logistics Manager ensures deliveries are handled expeditiously, safely, and within budget constraints through a private fleet of class C and B trucks. This manager oversees equipment, repairs, personnel, safety, and fleet operations. Manage a team of 3 support personnel handling routing, driver safety, and DOT/FMCSA compliance. This manager also trains and mentors a team of over 20 CDL drivers, and over sees routing, scheduling, and servicing of stops within a 150-mile radius of the San Francisco Bay Area. The role involves planning, forecasting, measuring and exceeding KPIs, resolving problems, and anticipating needs. The goal is to find ways to optimize efficiency, reduce expenses, and maximize profitability.

Background Required:
  • Transportation and Logistics Management (5 yrs)
  • Management & Supervisory experience (5 years, at least 3 people)
  • Fleet & Driver management (25 trucks, 25 CDL drivers)
  • Safety and compliance management (3 yrs)
  • Routing and scheduling (3 yrs)
  • Fleet Maintenance exposure
  • DOT, CARB, ARB compliance
  • Extensive DOT, HOS, and FMCSA knowledge
  • Recruit, hire, train, and retain members of fleet (3 yrs)
  • Develop, meet, and exceed KPIs (safety, on time deliver, efficiency)
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Suite Products
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Residence: Greater Bay Area (South San Francisco)
