Crawford Murphy & Tilly (CMT) is looking for a transportation project engineer for their Aurora, Illinois office. This individual will serve as the technical lead on transportation projects with oversight of various technical areas of transportation design and planning. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for overseeing production documents, specifications, and estimates development from junior engineers in the surface transportation group. In addition, the engineer will be responsible for mentoring junior engineers and providing QA/QC of a diverse array of surface transportation engineering projects. This individual will be responsible for leading the design effort and leading the effort for multifaceted, complex transportation projects. The engineer will work closely with project managers to ensure the technical aspects of the project meet performance requirements and client expectations. This role will also ensure that all transportation engineering disciplines involved are in-sync. As such, there will be the opportunity to showcase technical familiarity with a broad range of engineering disciplines that affect transportation design. This is a great opportunity for an engineer that enjoys the technical design aspect of projects and is looking to join a great well-established local team. The group is a well-established with a strong local presence in Northern Illinois. Many of the team’s projects are in Northern Illinois with municipal or regional clients, so minimal travel is anticipated for this position.

Requirements:
BS in Civil Engineering or related fields.
8+ years of experience
Licensed Professional Engineer
Prior transportation design experience for public sector clients.
Experience using Microstation and Geopak
Familiarity with IDOT and/or Tollway processes and requirements (preferred)
