Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Transportation Director of a newly formed company that was established to be the dedicated truckload & logistics provider for a leading Cabinet manufacturer. They are a premier built-to-order, frameless cabinet manufacturer that is family owned. They operate out of 3 facilities with nearly $100M dollars in annual revenue and 400 employees. With their plans for future growth, they are looking to consolidate their manufacturing and warehousing services into one building providing them a more efficient internal process to better serve their customers. Through utilizing both their line-haul fleet & last mile delivery services they are able to manage their entire operation in-house giving them a unique ability to service their clients down to their every need. They operate 9 53-foot trucks & 6 local delivery box trucks throughout their private fleet.
The Transportation Coordinator will be responsible for the company’s primary customer as well as return backhaul loads in order to eliminate dead-head miles. This includes all facets of planning, routing, and scheduling of transportation moves under the direction of the Transportation Director. They will coordinate all day-to-day route design deliverables for internal transportation policies and regulations. They track routes and document/communicate any routing delays to ensure on-time delivery and completely customer satisfaction. The coordinator will be the main point of contact for all incoming vendor or supplier inquiries as well as assist in developing new vendor relationships as directed & complete all carrier packets, rate confirmations, and any legally required paperwork.

  • Planning & scheduling outbound shipments
  • Interaction & re-scheduling with warehouses and receiving docks
  • Rate & pricing negotiation
  • Technology (TMS, WMS, eCourier, proprietary software)
  • HOS, DOT, FMCSA, and driver inspections
  • Dispatch management (load building)
  • Driver relations & retention
  • Last/Final Mile (not required but preferred)
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Residence: Indianapolis, IN (Northwest)
