Senior Design Lead - Toys & Packaging

Position Overview

We're looking for a strategic and creative Design Lead who can bridge the gap between artistic vision and commercial success. This role will oversee the design and development of packaging designs that not only break-frame and create excitement, but drive conversion, both in traditional retail environments and e-commerce platforms.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the creative direction for packaging design across multiple product lines, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines while pushing creative boundaries

- Develop innovative packaging solutions that optimize shelf presence and e-commerce visibility while meeting all safety and regulatory requirements

- Create compelling hard line packaging designs that effectively communicate product features and brand story

- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product development teams to ensure packaging designs meet commercial objectives

- Navigate licensing requirements and deep understanding of US retail

- Analyze market trends and consumer insights to inform design strategies

- Oversee the entire packaging development process from concept to production

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of packaging design experience, with at least 3 years in the toy/collectables industry

- Proven track record of creating successful packaging designs that drive sales conversion

- Strong understanding of retail environments and e-commerce requirements

- Experience with licensed properties and managing licensor relationships

- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, ESKO and additional relevant design software

- Excellence in both 2D and 3D design principles

- Strong presentation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Packaging Design, or related field

- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production requirements

- Understanding of child safety regulations and compliance requirements
