Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President of US Operations of a leading global Tower Crane OEM. With a rental fleet of approximately 700 tower cranes globally, they are among the major providers in this area of business serving customers worldwide as both manufacturer and service provider.
The Tower Crane Technician is responsible for providing aftermarket service support for the company’s products on-site, via email and over the phone. Provide technical guidance to other internal/external professionals and customers related to tower crane applications. Assist customers with trouble shooting and problem solving all technical service, installation, repair, or modification issues. Maintain customer relations pertaining to parts, service and warranty. Analyze reports of technical problems to determine trends affecting future design, production, service and maintenance processes. Coordinate and administer service bulletins and any other communication from the factory (support Tower section Repair program as needed). Plan and coordinate activities related to investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems by utilizing applicable processes to eliminate future operational or service difficulties - utilize electrical schematics, drawings, and your understanding of mechanical drive systems. Provide technical support to erect, climb, dismantle and perform maintenance and repairs to cranes. Provide assistance with proper loading of equipment on trucks for transporting tower crane components to/from job site. Assist in the management of spare parts. Follow OSHA (State & Local) safety regulations. Comply with company and regulatory safety requirements and specifications on jobsites. Represent company in a professional manner, including company supplied uniform, the maintenance of company vehicles, tools, equipment.

Background Required:
  • Off Highway Construction Equipment and/or Mobile Crane Mechanic / Technician (3 years)
  • Read schematics (electrical and hydraulic)
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical boards and equipment computer systems
  • Troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic systems
  • Willingness to travel to various local / regional job sites
  • Comfortable with climbing heights in excess of 300 feet
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Suite, Various Industry Software (CRMs’, etc.)
  • Education: Factory, vocational or mechanical training
  • Residence: NY, NJ Region - relocation is available
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Tower Crane Mechanic / Technician (2 years)
  • Assembly / Disassembly / Jumping of Tower Cranes
  • Experience dealing directly with equipment distributors, owners, and users primarily in a product or customer
  • support capacity
  • Knowledge of PLC’s and frequency drive systems
  • Experience in crane rigging and assembly
  • Education: Associate Degree in Engineering or related field
