Engineering Tooling and Welding Shop Supervisor

Location: North Carolina

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Tooling and Welding Shop Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our clients tooling and welding shops, ensuring smooth and efficient plug and mold construction. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to manage both people and equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Supervisor will be responsible for scheduling work, assigning tasks to shop associates, managing equipment maintenance, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. In addition, the Supervisor will handle personnel-related issues, including time clock edits and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations of the Engineering Tooling and Welding shops, ensuring optimal efficiency.
  • Assign and prioritize tasks for all shop associates, ensuring work is completed on time and to quality standards.
  • Manage equipment maintenance, including routine checks, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
  • Oversee shop housekeeping to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Handle personnel issues such as time clock edits and reporting, providing support and guidance to associates.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies in all aspects of shop operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Engineering, to ensure project specifications and timelines are met.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong proficiency in hand and power tool usage.
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and manage a diverse team of associates.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Engineering experience or background in a relevant field.
  • Experience with fiberglass work, including molding and tooling.
