PROFILE:

Our client is a newer manufacturing plant who is experiencing growth at their manufacturing plant just outside of Summerville, SC. Our client is a heavy manufacturer in the automotive and heavy trucking industries and has already seen one expansion and is currently hiring more skilled trades, production associates and professional staff to support expanded operations and more growth is still to come!

POSITION:

In the role of Tooling Supervisor, you will oversee the entire Tooling team at our client's facility. While this position is based on normal dayshift hours, you will be expected to provide support to your teams on 2nd or 3rd shifts as needed. Your most primary duty is to ensure that plant tooling and dies are in good working order and are ready to be used in production operations. When dies are in need of repair, you will ensure that teams are addressing the fixes so that the dies can go back into service. You will also coordinate the PMs of dies as prescribed.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have previous Die Maintenance experience in a heavy industrial setting

- Preference given to those with casting/molding die experience

- Journeyman card holders are highly desired

- Must have previous experience leading Tool & Die teams previously

- Must be capable of managing and still being hands on required

- Must be able to work normal day shift hours as well as off shift hours when needed

  • Manage daily shift manufacturing assignments and post shift assignments visibly prior to shift start
  • Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas
  • Work continuously to improve all work areas and contribute to the 7’s initiatives.
  • Ensure effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development, assist in making employment decisions, and resolves employee’s issues using a variety of problem resolutions techniques.
  • Ensure full compliance with shop health and safety policies and performs accident investigations
  • Cross-train employees to ensure production requirements can be met every day. This includes establishing and executing a manageable job rotation schedule for all reports
  • Be visible on the production floor, to assist the production floor * Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Facilitate and remove obstacles to production as they arise
  • Complete shift labor edits accurately on a daily basis.
