JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Tooling Sharpener in Williamston MI. Our client is a manufacturing facility. The Tooling Sharpener is responsible for maintaining and sharpening various cutting tools used in manufacturing processes

Responsibilities of a Tooling Sharpener includes:

• Use grinding machines to sharpen and reshape tools like drill bits, milling cutters, and reamers
• Inspect and test tools to ensure they are operating properly
• Set up and operate sharpening and grinding machinery
• Measure the dimensions of finished products to ensure they meet specifications
• Calculate the material, equipment, and labor requirements for production
• Adjust equipment controls to meet cutting specifications
• Clean and lubricate production equipment

Job Requirements of a Tooling Sharpener:

• Ability to operate a variety of grinding machines.
• Knowledge of materials and how to use them.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to follow safety procedures.
• Knowledge of mathematics and geometry.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools.

REQUIRED Experience and Education:

• At least 2 years of previous experience in a similar position!
