TOOL & DIE - A leading manufacturer is adding a tool & die professional to their team in the Kissimmee, FL area.

The purpose of this position is to provide in-house capability and support to Production and Maintenance where fabrication, repair and/or rework of primarily metal components are required. This includes all aspects of machining and welding. Must also have the ability to work with local mold repair shops to coordinate the repairs on our tooling that we do not have in-house capabilities to handle.


  • Work in a safe manner and use all required personal protective equipment.
  • Always keep areas of work safe and clean.
  • Ensure that all equipment is safe to operate.
  • Follow proper Lockout-Tag out Procedures. (Authorized)
  • Fabricate simple and/ or complex tools, fixtures and machined parts as directed by the Tech. Manager/Plant Manager using various Machine tools, welding equipment, and hand tools.
  • Assist in troubleshooting molds and tooling and perform major and/or minor repairs as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and Tech. Manager.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) on Machine Shop equipment as per PM schedule.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in English.
  • Needs to keep files on all mold and tool repairs.
  • PC experience. Basic MS Office programs knowledge.
  • Confers with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information. Ability to communicate effectively with peers, vendors, and with other inter-company plant personnel to expedite repairs and breakdowns of tooling and equipment.
  • Works with minimal supervision.

Basic Qualifications:

· Must have good working knowledge of molds and molding equipment.

· Good understanding of pumps, hydraulics, gears, sprockets, transmissions, and chain driven equipment.

· Ability to operate typical machine shop equipment and tools.

· Must be capable of interpreting blueprints, and schematics.

· Must be willing and able to work with and on production equipment in a maintenance capacity when required is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational/technical school training preferred; on-the-job training provided.
  • Previous related experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
