Tool & Die Maker
We have partnered with a leading Manufacturer and global Supplier of discrete Electrical assemblies and contacts for Electrical OEMs across the world. We seek individuals that are eager to learn, grow, and develop, support Production, and work in a safe, reliable shop with consistent hours, good pay, and job security within a well-established and growing company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the production environment to meet planning schedules and customer requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and work-in-process documentation, perform calculations, and verify material specifications.
- Select appropriate tooling and measuring instruments, and use them to ensure dimensional accuracy of parts according to engineered specifications.
- Manage all parameters of assigned tasks with a high level of organization and time management.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized shop environment.
- Accurately maintain work reports, time sheets, and data entry in the ERP system.
- Safely handle heavy tooling components and materials up to 50 lbs. unassisted; perform physically demanding tasks as required.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and management, both orally and in writing, and demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Follow instructions carefully and maintain a positive attitude with a strong commitment to hard work and continuous learning.
- Adhere to safe work practices, industrial hygiene standards, and housekeeping protocols.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude, and consistently wear and uphold personal protective equipment (safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.).
- Remain flexible and adapt to changing work requirements.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Ontario or Inter-Provincial Tool and Die maker (430A) Certificate of Qualification is required.
- Ontario or Inter-Provincial Machinist (429A), or Mold Maker (431A) Certificate of Qualification may also be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience preferred.
- Must have their own tools and safety shoes.
- Candidates required to have a valid G Ontario driver’s license.
- Must be willing to work a continental shift rotation.
- Knowledge and use of wire and sink EDM is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of CNC operation and programming is preferred.
- Knowledge and use of Solid works, Mastercam, and Microsoft Office is considered an asset.
