Therapist (Tues-Sat) - Children's Outpatient

We have an exciting opportunity for a Therapist to join our team of talented professionals in the Children's Outpatient program.

1. Conduct Intake Assessments, including all necessary opening paperwork (Psychosocial Assessment, financial and demographic forms, etc.)
2. Assess and document the needs of children who present themselves for outpatient services in line with Person-Centered Planning.
3. Provide individual, family and group therapy.
4. Provide parent education, coaching and training.

1. Work collaboratively with others in relation to the child and family including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, Wraparound facilitators, school personnel and other family service or support people.
2. Advocate on behalf of the child and family to assist them in meeting their needs and reaching their desired level of self-sufficiency.
3. Provide referrals for services and community resources as needed.
4. Assess client satisfaction and participate in program evaluation as needed.
5. Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings and case consultations.
6. Complete clinical records and agency documentation in a timely manner consistent with policies and procedures of the Guidance Center.
7. Work with other COP and Guidance Center staff in addressing unit and agency issues and student supervision.
8. Follow The Guidance Center’s professional code of ethics.
9. Represent The Guidance Center in the community in a professional manner.
10. Complete all required annual trainings such as Recipient Rights, Medicaid Grievance and Appeals, Person-Centered Planning, etc.
11. Complete 25 hours of training per calendar year specific to children or adolescents.
12. Full-time staff must provide 23 hours of billable service per week.
13. Proficient with use of computer, (including email, word processing, excel spreadsheets, and databases, etc.) experience with electronic medical record preferred.
14. Other duties as assigned.

Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, and be licensed and retain current license in the State of Michigan. Must also meet Michigan Department of Community Health requirements for a Child Mental Health Professional CMHP within 120 days of hire.

Additional requirements include: cultural competency, ability to work effectively with a diverse population, the ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships with children and families in a variety of modes of treatment, the ability to develop collaborative relationships with other unit staff and providers, effective communication skills, and a willingness to be flexible.
