Testing Engineer
Location: Lansing, MI
Position Overview
The Testing Engineer supports the development and execution of automated testing activities for powertrain and vehicle-related systems. This role focuses on preparing test environments, supporting endurance and performance evaluations, and working closely with customers and global engineering teams to deliver reliable test results.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, configure, and maintain test bench systems used for durability and functional testing of powertrain-related components
- Configure test parameters and bring new or updated test systems into operational service
- Plan and carry out test bench activities in coordination with customer requirements and project timelines
- Modify and align test scripts and routines to function within automated testing frameworks
- Review, process, and interpret collected test data to ensure accuracy and meaningful results
- Perform calibration activities on sensors and measurement equipment to maintain testing integrity
- Implement and connect customer-defined diagnostic and data analysis tools into test environments
- Collaborate and communicate with international customers and distributed engineering teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering or Automotive-related studies
- Practical experience with electrified vehicle systems and electrical vehicle technologies
- Familiarity with automated testing platforms and test bench control systems
- Foundational understanding of measurement principles and instrumentation
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
- Exposure to programming or scripting concepts is beneficial, particularly for system troubleshooting and workflow understanding
