Overview
As part of the Testing Team you will understand our client’s applications thoroughly at both a business function and technical level. You are responsible for the overall quality of their products and applications and you recommend, and have the authority to implement quality improvement initiatives. You are responsible for the quality of their Collaborative Application Framework and Application Templates. You are involved in the design, implementation, and documentation of software tests at the module and application levels. In this role you will work closely with R&D and consulting, as well as customers, to ensure that testing requirements and deliverables are met throughout the development process.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in requirement analysis and software design meetings.
    Review test plans and test scripts designed by Software Test Engineers.
  • Automate tests to increase test coverage, efficiency and productivity
  • Execute module, integration, application and system tests.
  • Design and implement in-house testing tools when commercial tools are not available.
  • Develop quality metrics and defect statistics for continuous improvement programs.
  • Review software documentation for correctness and completeness.
  • Provide various support for the software Beta testing program.
  • Work with customers and partners on defect tracking and resolution.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer to other groups.

REQUIREMENTS

·        Four or more years' experience in application software development environments.

·        Experience with XML and XSL.

·        Experience with Windows 2000/XP, UNIX, IIS, Oracle.

·        Experience with Configuration Management such as CVS

·        Superior communication skills (verbal & written)

·        Ability to learn quickly with minimal assistance.

·        Ability to multi-task and work independently.

·        Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

·        Four-year, undergraduate degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent. An advanced degree is preferred.

 

ASSETS 

·        Experience with messaging middleware or transaction layers such as MSMQ, MQSeries or Tibco.

·        Experience with Web Application servers such as WebLogic, WebSphere or JBoss

·        Proficient in the use of scripting languages such as JavaScript, VBScript, Ant, Shell
