The Opportunity

This company is in search of a new Territory Sales Representative that will work remotely and travel across the region as assigned. The role will entail building, maintaining and managing relationships with end users, contractors and key customer personnel. The role will also involve providing deep product expertise and sales assistance to customers

The Team

Reporting to the Director of US Commercial Grain Sales, the Territory Sales Representative will be based remotely and will travel through an assigned region. The Territory Sales Representative will work with a dynamic team of Sales Representatives covering territories throughout the US. Together they will work collectively with customers, dealers and other Territory Representatives across this company to meet the growing needs of our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Build an account base by demonstrating products, services, and technical product solutions
  • Effectively manage a territory and maximizes business potential.
  • Drive new customer business through networking, referrals, and cold calling.
  • Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations to contractors and direct customers.
  • Enter all Customer Opportunities into SalesForce and actively manages and maintains Opportunity status.
  • Collect customer requirements to quote Request for Proposals from customers including drawings, specifications and contract terms.
  • Facilitate communications between this company’s Quote Team and end-users to insure accurate cost estimating.
  • Work with internal departments and/or divisions to solve problems and develop solutions for customer accounts.
  • Strategize with management to locate and maximize sales opportunities.
  • Develop strategies and provide feedback to ensure we remain competitive in the market.
  • Gather and share competitive information with appropriate internal departments.
  • Execute sales strategy within existing territory to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals.
  • Assist with customer retention by being aware of competitive situations and meeting with the customers.
  • Build relationships with customer decision makers and provide extraordinary customer service.
  • Ensure sales and retention goals for all products are met.
  • Source and manage distribution channels as needed.
  • Work jointly with other departments when working directly with customers to resolve customer concerns and complaints.
  • Assist in development of sales budget and subsequently ensures adherence to the budget numbers.
  • Complete and maintain sales reports, forecasts and customer data.
  • Contribute to positive organization image; involved in market sales activities, community fund raisers, coordinates PR events and trade shows.
  • Support regional, national, trade shows.
  • Represent the organization in trade organizations.
  • Perform additional related duties as requested or required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Four-year high school education plus two year post high school education or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two to four years of outside sales or customer service experience required. Grain Handling industry experience and technical knowledge of grain storage and handling preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • Ability to travel as required in meeting essential duties and responsibilities, this could be approximately 60%-70%
  • Valid state Driver’s License required.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Preferred understanding of Salesforce data systems
  • A high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals.
  • Ability to manage and develop the business relationships of existing and new this company’s accounts.
  • A proven track record that shows a strong ability to work with customers meet or exceed assigned objectives
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of this company’s Commercial products
  • Experience with meeting revenue goals
  • Demonstrated ability to grow relationships and expand product platform footprints.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to prepare product presentation materials and articulate technical information in a polite, confident, relationship building way.
  • Some evening or weekend work as required by customer demands and/or seasonality typical to agriculture
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills
  • This position requires the ability to follow company policy and procedures and act with integrity.
