Territory Manager - Vegetable Seed Sales
We have been engaged by a growing supplier (with significant market share across Canada) of organic and conventional vegetable seeds (proven and certified). They are hiring a full-time Territory Manager - Vegetable Seed Sales for Ontario as an addition to their growing team. This is a home office-based opportunity, and the ideal location would be either of the Bradford Marsh area or the sand plain area of SW Ontario- Delhi, Simcoe, Tillsonburg, Scotland etc., however there is flexibility for location.

Their extensive R&D and field trial program enables their dynamic team to advise customers proficiently on new varieties and seed treatments tailored to customers' markets, soil types and local climatic conditions. They provide personalized and professional pre-sale and post-sale service; continuously being available to and working with their customers. In this diverse position, your focus will be on seed sales and service activities across Ontario- but will be concentrated within the key field crop vegetable growing regions of the province. There will also be opportunity to travel to customers in other provinces. Identifying new sales opportunities, maintaining and expanding market share with existing customers, providing excellent ongoing customer support and conducting small plot field trials of new varieties will be essential functions of this role.
Under the direction of the Sales Manager, you will have responsibility for managing your territory. This includes establishing and tracking sales targets and budgets, evaluating product performance with customers, working with internal departments for customer service, accounting and R&D, reporting, and participating in internal and external industry product training and professional development activities.

- Diploma in agriculture or a B.Sc. in Agronomy or Horticulture.
- 3 + years of relevant experience in agronomic sales to growers- with vegetable products and growers preferred.
- A solid technical background in field vegetable production or the ability to learn quickly.
- A general knowledge of the field vegetable industry in Ontario.
- The time management and organization skills that support your autonomy to work from home, visit existing customers and establish relationships with prospective customers.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Professional, ethical and customer focused attitude.
- Solid negotiation, problem solving and computer skills.
