Position Responsibilities: Reporting to the Regional Director for a leading logistics provider serving the evolving needs of businesses in today’s same-day delivery world. Our client manages daily routed and on-demand delivery services across the country, with a dedicated team of professionals handling jobs of all shapes, sizes, timeframes, and locations. Through deep expertise in the automotive, ecommerce and medical industries, they drive visibility, flexibility, and predictability for their clients across the delivery spectrum from first call to the final mile and everywhere between.
The Terminal Manager is the senior leader in the terminal, responsible for the overall operation of the facility to include operations, customer service, financial performance, and employee development. The General Manager will lead the terminal staff to ensure the company’s goals and objectives are met while creating a productive and safe environment for employees and vendors. Has 6 direct reports. They are continuously assessing service delivery to make sure customer expectations are exceeded. Manage the P&L. Oversee distribution of transportation work. Evaluate transportation services, and implement changes where needed to improve service and contain cost. Act decisively to resolve shipper or customer needs. Ensure facility is always managed and operating properly for full productivity.
Background Required: • Transportation Leadership Experience (3 yrs) • Meet and exceed customer KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) • P&L Management • Transportation Management System (TMS) • Negotiations with independent contractors and transportation companies • Independent contract models • OSHA and DOT comprehension • Computer literate: Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook • Education: Associate Degree or Higher • Residence: Harrisburg, PA (relocation assistance provided if needed)
Background Preferred (but not required): • eCourier • Exposure to big and bulky final mile • White Glove Home Delivery (Appliances) • Custom delivery software • Warehouse engineering, process, and product flow • Education: Bachelor’s degree
