Temporary Lab Assistant & Sample Technician
Temporary Full-Time Approx. 3-Month Term (Potential Extension)
Hire Standard is recruiting a Lab Assistant & Sample Technician for a full-time contract role with a Southern Alberta agricultural operation.
Under direct supervision, this role will perform lab pulling samples and operate computer. Must be comfortable working on computers with programs such as Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
Responsibilities:
- This is a critical position for attention to detail and following quality-specific directions
- Visual seed inspections
- Record results - enter data into SAP
- Process and handle treated seed samples
- Print tags and update process orders
- Record and track sample data accurately
- Operate small-scale production equipment
- Support plant and seasonal agricultural activities
Requirements:
- High School Diploma (required)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable and able to work independently
- Comfortable with data entry and basic computer tasks
Assets:
- Seed sampling or processing experience
- QA or production experience
- Agriculture background or education
We Offer:
- 40 hours/week
- Rotating shifts every 2 weeks:
- Days: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
- Afternoons: 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm
- Overtime and weekend work may be required
- Wage $23.00/ hour + shift premiums
