Location: Kalispell or Missoula, Montana (daily travel throughout surrounding build area)
About the Opportunity
A fast-growing broadband provider is investing heavily to bring gigabit fiber service to under-served communities in Northwest Montana. As the Telecom Construction Manager, you will take full ownership of a 270-mile aerial/underground fiber build, a new Network Operations Center, and related wireless sites. Your leadership will shape the project’s success, expand digital access for thousands of residents and businesses, and open doors to future nationwide builds.

Key Responsibilities
- Direct every phase of aerial and underground fiber construction, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule targets are met.
- Act as the on-site liaison with subcontractors, utilities, local agencies, and community stakeholders; resolve field issues rapidly to keep crews productive.
- Track daily production metrics (strand footage, pole transfers, splice counts, hut delivery) and validate contractor invoices against verified work.
- Coordinate permitting, traffic control, one-call locates, and environmental safeguards before work begins.
- Lead tailgate meetings, enforce OSHA/PPE standards, and document corrective actions to promote a zero-incident culture.
- Capture accurate redlines and digital as-built data for seamless GIS integration and future maintenance.
- Provide limited customer-facing support for business and residential drop installations affected by construction activity.
Required Background & Skills
- 4+ years managing outside-plant fiber builds (aerial and underground) for telecom carriers, utilities, or EPC firms.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret construction prints, pole loading analysis, splice schematics, and quality-control standards.
- Familiarity with rural or tribal right-of-way and permitting processes is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mapping/field apps such as Vetro, ArcGIS, or Google Earth.
- OSHA-10 certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days) and a clean driving record.
- Ability to live within daily-driving distance of Kalispell or Missoula and travel the full project footprint.
