Employment Type: Full-Time
Overview
Our client, a stealth-mode startup innovating in the physical security space, is looking for a skilled and adaptable Traveling Security Technician to join their founding field team. This role is hands-on, travel-heavy, and critical to the company’s mission of delivering next-generation security technology to enterprise and critical infrastructure clients. If you’re looking to break out of the day-to-day and be part of building something new, this is your opportunity.
What You’ll Do
-
Install, configure, and maintain physical security systems at client sites nationwide, including access control, video surveillance, sensors, and associated infrastructure.
-
Lead or assist with full system deployments: pulling cable, mounting devices, configuring software, testing functionality, and training end users.
-
Troubleshoot technical issues on-site and work with engineering or support teams to implement fixes.
-
Conduct site assessments, validate layouts, and document installation standards and field learnings.
-
Represent the company with professionalism in the field, often working directly with security directors, IT teams, and facility managers.
-
Maintain accurate records of work performed, inventory used, and site-specific notes.
-
Travel frequently (up to 80%) across the U.S., including short-notice assignments.
What You’ll Need
-
3+ years of experience installing and servicing commercial security systems, including access control, CCTV, or intrusion systems.
-
Proficiency with tools, cabling, terminations, and configuration of common platforms (e.g., Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Axis).
-
Strong technical troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in the field.
-
Familiarity with IP-based systems, basic networking, and structured cabling.
-
Comfortable working in construction sites, data centers, or active facilities.
-
Professional communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
-
Valid driver’s license, clean background check, and ability to travel extensively.
Why This Role
This is a rare chance to join a stealth startup at the ground floor and directly shape how physical security systems are deployed at scale. You won’t just be another technician — you’ll be a field pioneer helping bring a new solution to life, with support from an experienced, tight-knit founding team. Expect hands-on work, high standards, national travel, and the satisfaction of seeing your impact in the real world.
