Technical Service Representative

The Technical Service Representative works as part of the commercial sales team and is responsible for providing product support to customers and key industry/supply chain partners while also educating about the features and benefits of Company products. Works closely with direct customers and merchants but also designers, equipment manufacturers and packaging production companies. Support is provided across multiple markets in which Company is used included printing, general graphics and design, direct thermal, label and packaging. The Technical Service Representative also works closely with Company management, manufacturing, Quality and R&D teams on product improvement, customer complaints and new product development based on market feedback and needs.

The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, have strong problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure, and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent listening and communication skills are required.

Job Duties

  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to synthetic paper printing, converting, finishing, blow molding, injection molding and end-use application by identifying root causes and providing recommendations
  • Provide accurate product information and serve as a knowledgeable resource for the customer
  • Analytical thinker with a strong focus on detail
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized with limited supervision
  • Must be able to adapt and work safely in many types of production environments
  • Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data
  • Travel required to perform field visits to customer sites
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Technical background with knowledge about printing, converting, extrusion or plastics engineering is desired but not required
  • Previous experience within printing and/or packaging field is a plus
  • Prior demonstrated experience in technical service or production/manufacturing
  • Ability to be effective in a soft sales environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and verbal and written communication skills required
  • Strong listening skills, professionalism and ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers
  • Be patient with difficult customers and polite when addressing complaints
  • Ability to get along with others, accept constructive feedback and exhibit a positive attitude
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet individual goals
  • Strong decision making and analytical abilities to deal with conflict resolution effectively
  • Ability to work and perform in a fast-paced environment without structured work guidelines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
