Job Title: Technical Sales, Personal Care & Cosmetic Ingredients (Cosmetic Scientist)

Location: Philadelphia for 3 months to start, then anywhere in the Northeast USA (remote office)

Overview:

Our client is a producer of functional chemical ingredients primarily sold to manufacturers of Cosmetics, Personal Care products, Laundry detergents, floor cleaners, and soaps.
This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the sales process from client interaction, sampling, ideation, sales, delivery, contract negotiation, presentations, and revenue collection.
This is a JUNIOR-LEVEL ENTRY-LEVEL TECHNICAL SALES POSITION. We wish to hire someone with at least 2 years of benchtop formulation experience in the targeted areas mentioned. Candidates with Sales experience, along with Formulations experience, are desired.
Since this is a Junior-Level sales position, the candidate must be willing to work at the Philadelphia Headquarters location for the first 3 months, full-time, for training and onboarding purposes.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Develop new business opportunities for the personal care/cosmetics product portfolio (preservation systems, surfactants, emollients, silicone alternatives, emulsifiers, texturizers, and botanical extracts)
• Most applications are for Hair Care, Skin Care, and Sun Care portfolios. Also Laundry Care, Fabric Care, and Home Care). All sales are B2B.
• An example of customers for our ingredients would be companies like Revlon, Coty, L'oreal, Estee Lauder, Church & Dwight (Arm & Hammer), P&G, J&J, Reckitt Benckiser, Unilever, SC Johnson, and Colgate
• Sell fine chemicals and ingredients to direct accounts and also through distribution
• Deliver growth to the category through innovation and customer insights
• Maintain and grow customer relationships
• Provide marketing & strategic leadership to deliver financial results

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree is required. A specific degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or other Science is required.
• Chemical ingredient sales experience to manufacturers of personal care and/or cosmetics and co-packers / private label packaging companies is desired.
• Prior experience in the cosmetic / personal care laboratory preparing formulations for customers is required. Hair care, Skin care, Sun care, Fabric care, and/or Home care formulation experience is desired.
• Goal-driven, motivated professional

Overnight travel is estimated to be 25%.
