Position Summary
The Technical Project Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of assigned projects to ensure successful delivery within defined timelines, budgets, and performance expectations. This role may lead cross-functional teams and manage projects directly or through delegated supervisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate project proposals to determine scope, timelines, budget constraints, resource needs, and execution strategies.
- Develop detailed project plans, including staffing requirements and resource allocation across all phases.
- Assign responsibilities, define roles, and communicate expectations clearly to project team members.
- Lead and coordinate project activities to ensure progress aligns with schedules and financial targets.
- Monitor project performance through status reports and adjust plans as necessary to address risks or delays.
- Prepare and present project updates for leadership, clients, and stakeholders.
- Maintain organized and accurate project documentation, including correspondence, approvals, and records in accordance with company standards.
- Provide technical guidance and resolve issues in collaboration with engineering and project teams.
- Participate in performance evaluations and recommend training or development opportunities for team members.
- Apply knowledge of industry-standard drafting practices, terminology, and commercially available components when supporting projects.
- Support additional initiatives or cross-functional projects as required.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and cost reductions, and communicate recommendations to leadership.
- Follow established quality systems and ISO-related procedures, ensuring proper use of documentation, forms, and work instructions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality, environmental, and trade regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- May oversee and direct personnel assigned to specific projects or project phases.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
- Typically 5–10 years of related project management or engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to interpret technical data and complex instructions.
- Ability to read and understand business publications, technical documentation, and regulatory materials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in project planning, scheduling, and management methodologies.
- Experience with common business software tools such as word processing, spreadsheets, and project scheduling applications.
- Solid understanding of mathematical concepts such as ratios, percentages, probability, and basic geometry as applied in technical environments.
- Ability to manage multiple variables and priorities in a dynamic setting.
