Technical Plant Manager
We are seeking an experienced Technical Plant Manager to oversee and enhance production processes, system functionalities, and continuous improvement projects in a dynamic chemical manufacturing environment. This key leadership role will be responsible for managing and mentoring engineering teams, leading safety and regulatory compliance activities, and spearheading process and product improvements seamlessly from ideation to execution.
Salary: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct support of production activities, including the development and maintenance of production procedures and operational training programs for safety and efficiency.
- Build and maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs) and other critical site SAP data essential for production management.
- Troubleshoot Delta V process control systems issues and support ongoing production with technical expertise.
- Analyze production efficiency and capacity utilization to ensure targets are met, implementing necessary corrective measures.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives through operational excellence and capital expenditure projects.
- Plan and execute tasks during shutdowns while upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance.
- Manage the PSM/RMP program, ensuring all process safety information is accurate, leading incident investigations, and facilitating process hazard analyses and facility siting studies.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of operating procedures and the training plans essential for process safety management.
- Mentor and develop a team consisting of a Process Engineer and a Capital Engineer, setting clear goals and monitoring performance using HR tools.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering.
- At least 10 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
- Experience with and knowledge of Production Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) systems.
- Proficiency in using Delta V process control systems and Aspen IP.21 data historian.
- Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems and RC 14001 environmental, health, safety, and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leadership experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a chemical production setting.
- Familiarity with Responsible Care and other regulatory compliance frameworks relevant to the chemical industry.
- Hands-on experience with project management tools and strategies, including OpEx and CAPEX projects.
- Experience managing plant scale-up activities for new product integrations.
- Ability to effectively manage stress and multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
