About the Opportunity

A global pharmaceutical and life sciences organization is seeking an IT Infrastructure Technical Project Manager to lead a complex, multi-site separation initiative supporting regulated GxP business processes.

The organization partners with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to support the development, manufacture, and delivery of treatments to patients worldwide. This role reports to infrastructure leadership and serves as the primary liaison among Infrastructure, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Computer System Validation, Manufacturing, Cybersecurity, vendors, and business stakeholders. The Project Manager will ensure that infrastructure changes and deployments are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, quality standards, cybersecurity policies, and IT governance frameworks.

The successful candidate will help ensure that infrastructure solutions remain qualified, validated, secure, and operationally ready throughout the initiative.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of infrastructure projects aligned with global technology standards and business objectives.
Manage a complex, multi-site infrastructure separation initiative supporting regulated GxP operations.
Partner with infrastructure architects and engineering teams to define project scope, requirements, technical solutions, implementation strategies, and acceptance criteria.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, risk registers, dependency logs, decision records, and executive status reports.
Coordinate cross-functional teams, globally distributed resources, managed service providers, and third-party vendors to support timely execution and issue resolution.
Facilitate project governance, stakeholder reviews, change-control activities, escalation paths, and decision-making forums.
Identify, assess, document, and mitigate project risks; escalate critical issues and remove delivery roadblocks.
Monitor performance against established success criteria and ensure deliverables meet scope, schedule, quality, compliance, and business objectives.
Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, decisions, and milestones to technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership.
Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Computer System Validation teams to maintain qualified and validated infrastructure states.
Support continuous improvement by promoting project management standards, repeatable processes, and operational efficiencies across the infrastructure portfolio.

Required Qualifications

At least five years of experience managing technical infrastructure, cloud, data center, or enterprise technology projects.
Demonstrated experience leading complex infrastructure initiatives involving hybrid cloud, virtualization, enterprise networking, storage, and shared technology platforms.
Experience leading cloud migration, data center modernization, infrastructure separation, or enterprise transformation initiatives.
Strong understanding of hybrid infrastructure technologies, including VMware, Microsoft Azure, AWS, SD-WAN, MPLS, enterprise networking, and storage solutions.
Ability to translate technical requirements into executable project plans, timelines, budgets, estimates, resource plans, and delivery milestones.
Strong project management capabilities across scheduling, financial management, risk management, dependency tracking, change control, and stakeholder engagement.
Experience managing demand intake, evaluating requirements, coordinating solution design, and developing project estimates.
Experience working with cross-functional teams, managed service providers, third-party vendors, and global delivery organizations.
Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, ITIL, and formal project-governance practices.
Experience with Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, ServiceNow, or comparable project and collaboration platforms.
Excellent written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, and executive communication skills.
Fluent spoken and written English.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Azure services such as ExpressRoute, Azure Monitor, and Azure Arc.
PMP, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, or a comparable project management certification.
Experience in GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, manufacturing, or other validated enterprise environments.
Experience partnering with Quality Assurance and Computer System Validation teams.

Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid position based in Raleigh, North Carolina. The role may require up to 15% domestic or international travel.
