Technical Metallurgical Engineer

We are seeking a Technical Metallurgical Engineer who will primarily focus on providing engineered solutions and support for the manufacturing of metal components. The role includes hands-on management of metal part manufacturing and casting processes, encompassing both customer and supplier interaction to optimize production efficiency and product quality. Ideal candidates will offer technical insight to enhance both manufacturing execution and customer satisfaction. Salary: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct collaboration with customers to design metal components ensuring manufacturability and efficiency.
  • Evaluate and recommend optimal manufacturing processes and metallurgical techniques from prototyping through production.
  • Diagnose and resolve quality issues in metal parts, coordinating closely with foundry and machining facilities.
  • Perform comprehensive audits at off-site foundries and supplier locations to ensure compliance and quality standards.
  • Provide technical support to sales teams, enhancing their capabilities in securing and managing client accounts.
  • Facilitate robust communication channels between internal teams, suppliers, and customers to drive project success.
  • Engage in regular travel to regional sites to oversee processes and maintain standards of production and quality assurance.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Proven proficiency in engineering solutions tailored to enhance profitability.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience with ferrous and non-ferrous casting processes.
  • Capability in performing defect analysis on metal castings, identifying issues and recommending solutions.
  • Strong ability to perform under pressure within high-stress environments.
  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related Engineering field.
  • Conversant with Microsoft Office and other engineering software tools.
  • Outstanding organizational skills for managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a technical field related to metallurgy or materials engineering.
  • Experience with ISO standards and quality assurance methodologies in industrial settings.
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing role in the manufacturing or industrial sector.

Skills:

  • Expertise in nondestructive testing techniques such as Visual, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Radiography, Pressure, and Ultrasonic testing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interfacing with both technical professionals and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Aptitude for fostering positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to drive strategic goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of assessing processes and implementing improvements.
  • Effective leadership skills, with the capacity to guide and motivate others.
