The Technical Accounting & Policy Manager is a key member of the finance function and offers exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional areas of the business. This position will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and documenting technical accounting matters; maintaining and updating finance policies and procedures; supporting accounting standard implementation; overseeing financial change management processes; and contributing to strategic and operational finance initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Research and analyze accounting matters related to new transactions, business activities, and contractual arrangements; document appropriate accounting treatment and financial reporting implications
- Monitor emerging accounting standards and regulatory updates; assess impact and support implementation within financial reporting processes
- Develop, update, and maintain finance and accounting policies and procedures to ensure alignment with current standards and organizational practices
- Evaluate internal guidance against external or corporate frameworks and recommend updates where necessary
- Oversee financial change management processes to identify and assess changes that could affect financial reporting
- Review periodic summaries of accounting issues and operational changes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation
- Identify and investigate complex accounting issues requiring additional research or analysis
- Lead or support cross-functional efforts to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting efficiency
- Prepare clear, concise presentations and reports for senior leadership
- Contribute to special projects and ad hoc initiatives as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- 4–6+ years of relevant experience in accounting or financial reporting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required
- Experience researching and applying technical accounting guidance (e.g., U.S. GAAP or similar frameworks)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex scenarios
- Experience developing or maintaining accounting policies and procedures preferred
- Ability to interpret data, identify key issues, and communicate recommendations effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to varied audiences
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency with standard business and data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Office)
