TAX SPECIALIST

Based in Pittsburgh, PA (on-site) - This full time temporary and seasonal role could lead to a position with the firm based on growth
Duration: August 2026 - October 2026

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and closely held businesses.
  • Prepare gift tax returns and support related tax reporting requirements.
  • Analyze financial information, including income, deductions, credits, distributions, and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, financial advisors, and clients to gather information, resolve tax issues, and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and apply updates appropriately to client engagements.
  • Maintain accurate and organized tax files, workpapers, and correspondence.
  • Assist with tax planning initiatives and special projects as needed.
  • Contribute to the efficiency, accuracy, and overall success of the tax team while meeting multiple deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • CPA or EA designation preferred.
  • Seven plus years of tax preparation experience, including 3+ years preparing complex individual, partnership, trust, and/or closely held business tax returns within a public accounting or professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and family entities preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with tax preparation and research software, including CCH Axcess (preferred), ProSystem fx, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, Lackner, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
