• Coordinate all gross receipts, personal property and sales tax matters
  • Communicate with Taxing Authorities to find accurate information on upcoming payments, due dates, and accrued penalties and interest if applicable
  • Ensure all gross receipts, payroll, personal property and sales taxes are paid on a timely basis to take advantage of any discounts for early payment
  • Maintain tax calendar and digital/online payment tracker, using Excel, OneDrive, and/or any other tracking methods as directed by management to ensure no payments are missed
  • Assist in organizing and processing various department and software system reports as directed
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including set-up of new spreadsheets, data analysis, and summaries using Excel and other programs

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For (Minimum qualifications)

  • Must be a self-starter and work both independently and as a team
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Must become proficient with various tax and accounting software and can learn new software functions quickly while maintaining a high level or proficiency
  • Prefer 1-3 years prior experience in a high-volume accounting or tax department with a strong working knowledge of business, payroll, and sales taxes
  • Experience with AvaTax software a plus
