Carolina PRG is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Professional to join a in-house tax team. In this role, you will focus on the preparation, analysis, and filing of complex tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, pass-through entities, and related business interests. This position reports directly to the Head of Tax and offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior partners and investment stakeholders on strategic tax planning, compliance, and automation initiatives.
*** Based in or willing to relocate to Charlotte, NC preferred; open to remote candidates located on the East Coast.
Responsibilities:
- Partner directly with executives to provide tailored tax planning, consulting, and compliance support.
- Prepare and review federal, state, local, and international tax filings for high-net-worth individuals and pass-through entities.
- Manage tax data including K-1s, 1099s, and other supporting documentation.
- Conduct tax research and propose strategies aligned with current tax developments and long-term financial goals.
- Collaborate with external investment partners to understand and analyze the tax impact of current and prospective investments.
- Support corporate tax compliance and reporting efforts
- Help build and refine automation strategies to streamline documentation flow and reduce manual input.
- Partner with the Head of Tax on special strategic projects (M&A advisory, Tax Modeling, Integrations)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- 5+ years of experience in tax with experience working on high-net-worth individual tax compliance and planning.
- Strong knowledge of pass-through entity taxation (partnerships, S corps).
- Experience with international tax issues is a plus.
- Working knowledge of automation tools like Alteryx, Automation Anywhere, or other RPA platforms is a plus.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
