About the Opportunity

Precision Recruiting Solutions Group® (PRSG®) is recruiting a Tax Associate for a respected public accounting client located south of Pittsburgh. This is a great opportunity for an early-career professional who wants to build a strong foundation in tax compliance, research, and client advisory work within a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
  • Conduct tax research and summarize findings to support compliance and planning strategies.
  • Analyze financial data to ensure accurate tax reporting in line with current tax laws and regulations.
  • Assist senior staff with tax projections, extensions, and estimated payments.
  • Seasonal responsibility for financial statement compilations and reviews, and support of audits as needed.
  • Communicate with clients to gather financial information, resolve discrepancies, and provide timely updates.
  • Support responses to IRS and state tax notices and other agency inquiries.
  • Utilize tax preparation software (Thomson Reuters, UltraTax, or similar) and QuickBooks Online to complete assignments.
  • Participate in ongoing training and continuing education to maintain current tax knowledge.
  • Collaborate with team members on cross-functional projects, including audit or accounting support as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2–7 years of experience in public accounting, with tax experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA or EA in progress strongly preferred.
  • Experience using UltraTax is ideal, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and Thomson Reuters tax software (or similar platforms) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and client service skills.
  • Motivated, adaptable, and eager to grow a career in tax accounting.
