Job Title: TMS Functional Consultant
Location: Remote

Summary: The Functional Consultant of our client is a pivotal role that supports the define, design, testing, and execution of end-state solutions for ongoing client projects and internal customers during the implementation process. In addition to communicating directly with clients, this position is analysis intensive and requires a high comfort level with technology and working with large datasets.

Job Description:

  • Align closely with Engagement Director and team, to ensure successful onsite project execution.
  • Provides advice to clients regarding industry best practices and process methodology.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architect to refine and then document design, data mapping, and integrations, including fundamental data requirements.
  • Recommend when viable solutions exist outside of the Transportation Management System (TMS) software.
  • Serve as a functional liaison, attending and contributing to meetings between project team, end users, and key client contacts, up to and including executive project sponsors.
  • Generate training and education documents, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and User Guide materials.
  • Analyze, clean, format, and summarize datasets to help support Design decisions and Build/Test activities.
  • Ensure knowledge transfer is conducted with key client project team members and end users.
  • Provides end user support during the 'go-live' and Hypercare period.
  • Communicate and escalate project risks and issues, not quickly resolved, that may have a negative impact on the project schedule, scope, and/or budget.
  • Maintain and update the project plan.
  • Support internal projects to standardize project approaches, methodologies, and templates.
  • Complete assigned and agreed to work within allotted time and with a high level of quality.

Requirements:

  • Experience cleaning, summarizing, manipulating, and transforming large datasets.
  • Ability to clearly document procedures and steps for a variety of business activities and processes.
  • Comfortable presenting results and summary information to a Client-facing audience.
  • Understanding of the process and purpose for executing and maintaining a requirements traceability matrix through the design, build, and testing phases.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of transportation business operations including Truckload, LTL, Ocean, Air, Intermodal, and Parcel.
  • Demonstrates expertise in carrier rate/tariff structures and delivery schedules.
  • Experience with one or more industry Transportation Management Systems.
  • Experience in the design, planning, and implementation of ERP software programs such as SAP.
  • Experience using Smartsheet for project management is preferred.
  • Experience with Freight Brokerage is preferred.
  • Experience with International Logistics is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • 3+ years of implementation experience, to include executing: project implementation flow of planning, design, build, testing, training, deployment, and hypercare.
  • Experience in Management Consulting, or Organization Supply Chain Center settings preferred.
