System Engineering Team Leader:

The global technology leader in ADAS (automated driver assistance systems) and AV (autonomous vehicles) for the transportations industry (all the cool stuff that is appearing in cars – cameras / radar / night vision / autonomous vehicles / smart cruise control / occupant sensing) is expanding rapidly and looking for an engineering leader who is a cut above for this new program.

This is a direct-hire position located in a brand new state-of-the-art global technology center just north of the downtown Detroit area.

On-site schedule is permanently hybrid – a couple days in per week the rest remote.

What you'll do:

The Lead system Engineer is responsible for leading a systems team that is responsible for all phases of Systems Engineering in the RCS Pre-Development team which focuses on Advanced Engineering. This Engineer has good understanding of Restraints Control Products and how they operate in the system. This Engineer should have previous team leadership experience.

  • Lead a team of Systems engineers responsible for working on the cutting-edge new concepts for Restraint Control products.
  • Establish and adhere to the Project work plan for assigned projects. Open mind to adopt to changing requirements and release schedules including the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provides regular updates to PM and Design Manager.
  • Achieve optimized system level outcomes through cooperation with specialists in Hardware, Software, Algorithm, and Mechanical domains.
  • Lead development of concepts for further integration of restraint control products with active safety products or with other electronic systems.
  • Oversee validation of new concepts at the system level.
  • Support Core team and Application teams with transfer of knowledge.
  • Support development of intellectual property related to new concepts.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering.
  • Seven or more years in automotive electronics development, with substantial experience in restraint control electronics.
  • Experience in early concept development, including coordination/joint development with external suppliers
  • Previous work in a global team environment preferred.
  • Previous Agile experience as a Scrum master and/or as a Scrum team member.
