Our client is building the most advanced perimeter security technology on the market — combining AI and state-of-the-art hardware to protect critical infrastructure, events, and private properties. Their system scans vehicles and identifies occupants to detect undercarriage threats and prevent unauthorized access.

They’re seeking an experienced Systems Electrical Engineer to lead hardware design and control systems for their imaging platform. This is a hands-on, multidisciplinary role ideal for someone who can design robust hardware architectures and develop PLC logic to control machine vision systems.


What You’ll Do

  • Design system-level hardware architecture including camera control, power distribution, communication, and triggering for imaging and license plate recognition systems

  • Develop control solutions for gate/barrier arms, IR cut filters, laser/ground loop triggers, and payload I/O

  • Build wiring diagrams, select components, and define cabling and system layout

  • Program PLCs to manage timing, triggers, and system behavior

  • Lead testing, troubleshooting, and iteration for new and existing products

  • Write technical requirements and manage third-party hardware partners and contract manufacturers

  • Support cross-functional teams including Service, Sales, and Production

  • Contribute to the product development roadmap and help drive project timelines


What They're Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in hardware systems engineering, with a focus on imaging or machine vision applications

  • Strong background in electrical design, control systems, and PLC programming

  • Experience with component selection, system testing, and control architecture

  • Bonus: Experience with UL, IP, or thermal testing; background in automotive or physical security industries

  • Clear communicator and hands-on problem solver
