System Vice President Home Health and Hospice

North Chicago Suburbs

Our client is a comprehensive, fully integrated, healthcare delivery system that serves the greater Chicago area and Illinois communities with several hospitals, over 1000 licensed beds and too many awards to list!

They have engaged our firm to identify a Vice President of Home Health and Hospice Services to run the entire system in one of the most desirable suburbs in the Chicago land area.

The Vice President (VP) for Home Health and Hospice Services is a senior leader that has 24 hour accountability for the operational and strategic functions of our clients Home Health, Hospice, Palliative Care, and Durable Medical Equipment program over a wide geography of Northern Suburban Illinois. This expanding role is poised for growth with the potential for expansion of scope and scale of role. The VP works across a matrixed leadership health system to create a standardized, evidence based system for the delivery of home health, hospice, palliative care, and durable medical equipment in the most cost effective manner possible. The VP, as part of the administrative leadership within the corporation, plays a key role in strategy and development of home health, hospice, palliative care, and durable medical equipment initiatives. As the senior administrative leader of the service line, strong strategic, analytic, communication, and clinical leadership skills are necessary to provide leadership to a critical service line to ensure strategic growth and optimization of performance.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s in Allied Health, or other health care related field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Illinois Clinical License.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership and supervisory experience in home health care or a related health care program.
  • Three years of demonstrated expertise in senior leadership experience in a sizeable organization, including experience working as part of a cross-functional senior leadership team, developing organizational culture, strategy and policy.
  • Experience managing significant and continued growth.
  • Experience in health service administration preferred.
