Currently seeking a talented and dedicated System Laboratory Director for a great opportunity in the Norfolk, VA, or Richmond, VA area. The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of current experience working in an acute care hospital and 3+ years of experience working in a Laboratory Department in a leadership role.

Responsibilities of the System Laboratory Director

• Responsible for the system oversight of Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion, Point of Care, Urinalysis, Processing, and Laboratory Quality
• Serve as the lab leader for the integrated core laboratory and transfusion services
• Ensure laboratory is compliant with corporate, state, accrediting agencies, and federal regulatory requirements (CAP, CLIA, DMV, DOH, etc)
• Contributes to the success of hospitals by integrating performance improvement initiatives together with regulatory requirements, while supporting goals and objectives for facilities spanning multiple divisions
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, grow, and lead a high-performing team. Build and sustain a positive and energetic culture within an organization
• Performing other duties assigned as a System Laboratory Director

Requirements of the System Laboratory Director

• Bachelor’s Level Degree – MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY/LAB SCIENCE
• MHA or MBA in healthcare preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with peers and leadership
• Proven ability to bring excellent business acumen and resourcefulness to the management of the lab
• Knowledge of quality assurance procedures and practices
• Minimum 5 years Management/Leadership experience
