System Director Perinatal and Neonatal Services

Our client is seeking one of the top 10% of candidates to provide leadership to their dynamic Perinatal and Neonatal Services Department.

Position Summary:

A key member of the nursing leadership team and is responsible for setting strategies and the future direction of system Perinatal-Neonatal services in partnership with the Physician Medical Director. Responsible for all nursing related aspects of care delivered including financial management and oversight, clinical quality, engagement, nursing research, work force management and professional practice. In support of professional nursing practice, the Nursing Director provides leadership and creates a culture that supports the delivery of patient centered, specialized, evidence based nursing care across the continuum through an inter-professional approach to treatment, research, education and advocacy. This position contributes to the goals of Nursing and patient care by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and System policy. Through collaborative practice with all members of the care team, this role is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high quality of care, promotion of a culture of innovation and a commitment to professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Current Wisconsin RN Licensure.
  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required; a Master’s degree in Nursing or related field or willingness to obtain in 5 years.
  • Minimum of ten years of management experience at a manager level required.
  • Expert verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in presentation.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of a Magnet-designated nursing organization and the ability to provide guidance and support to achieve and maintain designation.
  • An effective communicator with strong oral and written skills; reads, writes and understands English; ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
  • Must be able to create and maintain strong working relationships with health system management and executive leadership ensuring that department strategic, financial and operational issues are addressed.
