Our Position Summary

This position is responsible for leading Systems Engineering activities through the complete V-cycle for electronically controlled automotive drivetrain systems, supporting the System Product Lead. Leads system requirements analysis and decomposition, system architecture and integration. Ensures system requirements are properly specified, balanced and validated to meet customer and internal specifications.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the development of the total system solution with balanced requirements while meeting technical, schedule and cost constraints
  • Perform requirements analysis, management and documentation through the development cycle. Support system architecture & design, system integration & verification.
  • Ensure the logical, systematic decomposition and transformation of customer and internal requirements into achievable product and subsystem requirements
  • Work with the program team to allocate subsystem and component requirements and ensure they are verified with bi-directional traceability
  • Focal point for system level technical discussions with cross-competency team, management and customers using highly effective communication and facilitation skills and techniques
  • Support the product development team with technical design analysis, trade-off studies, FMEAs, design reviews and customer presentations
  • Drive integration of the Systems V-model into the engineering processes and procedures
  • Determine the best techniques and procedures for system analysis, design and testing
  • Document and share best practices
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and team members; serve as a role model for organizational beliefs

Your Profile

  • 5+ years of engineering experience in one or more of the followings areas
    • Systems Engineering
    • Automotive electronics product development
    • Automotive powertrain/drivetrain design and development
  • Experience developing to a process standard (e.g. ASPICE)
  • BS – Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
    • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Strong product engineering experience and working knowledge of manufacturing processes and capabilities
  • Knowledge of embedded control software and software development processes
  • Knowledge of requirements definition, change management and verification techniques
  • Experience with system requirements management tools (Doors, Polarion, etc.)
  • Experience with Functional Safety - ISO 26262 and ASIL level requirements
  • Ability to work effectively across functional and geographic boundaries in the interest of the customer and the business
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills
