Supply Chain Planning Leader

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a seasoned Supply Chain Planning Leader to oversee and enhance our material forecasting and purchasing operations at our Boston-based headquarters. This key role focuses on developing and optimizing our Supply and Operations Planning (S&OP) process across multiple plant locations. By collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure our supply chain strategies are perfectly aligned with corporate goals to drive exceptional performance and maintain superior customer satisfaction. This position is perfect for a strategic thinker with a strong background in supply planning and a proven track record of success in enhancing supply chain operations.

Salary: DOE per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and optimization of supply parameters for all materials used in production.
  • Strategically identify and implement effective solutions to enhance material availability and ensure alignment with production schedules.
  • Efficiently address and resolve supply chain issues in partnership with the purchasing team, minimizing impact on production.
  • Drive supply chain objectives to meet and exceed performance metrics through strategic initiatives and team leadership.
  • Significantly contribute to the enhancement and strategic development of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
  • Analyze and create business cases for SKU rationalization and assess necessary adjustments in production capacity.
  • Provide expert analytical insights into production constraints and bottlenecks, offering actionable solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in supply planning and forecasting systems, guiding team members and enhancing system utilization.
  • Enhance cooperation and strategic alignment between operations and sales teams to optimize product offerings, package sizes, and order types.
  • Implement strategies aimed at minimizing excess and obsolete inventory, while also preventing stockouts and disruptions in the supply chain.
  • Maximize the utility of supply chain management tools, and serve as an expert in demand planning and ERP systems.
  • Adaptively manage additional responsibilities as required to support evolving business objectives.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a supply chain management or supply planning role.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills, with the capability to manage and integrate large cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in advanced forecasting, supply planning, and procurement processes.
  • Extensive experience with ERP software systems tailored for effective demand planning.
  • Project management prowess with a well-documented history of implementing process improvements.
  • Practical knowledge and direct operational experience in a supply chain or plant operations setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • 7+ years of strategic supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven success in an S&OP leadership role and achieving significant business outcomes.
  • Certification in supply chain management such as CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional).
  • Experience managing multinational supply chain operations is highly desirable.
