Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Lead.

  • Full Time- Permanent Contract.
  • 39 hours per week - Monday-Thursday: 0800-17:00, Friday:0800-13:00
  • Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB
  • Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union


The Supply Chain Lead role is responsible leading the team of Supply Chain Buyers, to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day business. Working with internal stakeholders (intercompany) and suppliers to develop close working relationships to ensure products (including raw material and special processing) are delivered on time to the agreed system price and quality requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead data gathering and analysis for key meetings – Business Reviews, Rate readiness and Weekly Management meeting
  • Provide escalation support to the Supply Chain Buyers including when appropriate attend the daily operational meetings
  • Lead annual spend and budget forecasting for allocated Business Units
  • Support the Category Lead and Category Manager where required in data collection, strategy development and negotiations
  • Blanket order – working with the Category Lead ensure order coverage
  • Invoice queries – lead investigations and drive resolution to invoice issues
  • Goods & Services on time delivery – manage and expedite to required lead-times - intercompany and supplier
  • Responsible for ensuring optimum stock levels are achieved and weekly/monthly purchases are in line with forecast
  • Complete Purchase Order approval process and issue to supplier in line with process
  • Check requisitions to ensure correct supplier, nominal code and quotations
  • Supplier & Stakeholder Relationship Management – structured reviews KPI driven
  • KPI reporting – responsible for supplier performance Quality/Cost/Delivery/Innovation/Risk
  • SAP – provide leadership support for the team

Position Requirements

Academic:

  • Good general education

Professional Accreditations:

  • Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) desired or working towards the qualification.

Experience:

  • 3- 5 years of procurement experience or equivalent in a customer facing role
