Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Response Officer.

  • Full Time 12month Temp Contract
  • 39 hours per week.
  • Job location: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB.
  • Unionised site – works in partnership with Unite the Union.

Based on site at critical problematic suppliers to support escalation driving performance improvement by identifying and resolving systemic problems.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Visit critical suppliers identified by Head of Supplier Management (HSM)
  • Validation of Purchase Orders to support demand are accurate and aligned in their system
  • Implement Supplier recovery plans and monitor/measure performance to those commitments
  • Implement Supplier improvement / standard work by improving process capabilities.
  • Verify raw materials are on order and forecast to support demand
  • Process confirmation of work in process (WIP) positions
  • Interface with senior level management of the organization regarding supplier performance and improvement actions and processes
  • Report out at executive levels on plans and results

Position Requirements


  • Preferably qualified or working towards a CIPS qualification at Level 4/5


Technical Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 - 10 years relevant technical Procurement or Supply Chain Management experience

Industry Experience

  • Previous experience within the Aerospace industry is preferable but not essential.
  • Supplier performance and relationship management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good knowledge of technical regulations and legislation related to the field.
  • Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level.
  • Ability to analyse and manipulate technical and complex data, providing meaningful information.
