We’re seeking a Supervising Mechanical Engineer to step into a senior leadership role overseeing multidisciplinary MEP projects from concept through construction. In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted technical authority, client-facing leader, and mentor—guiding teams, setting standards, and ensuring project success.

What You’ll Do
As a Supervising Mechanical Engineer, you will act as Engineer of Record on assigned projects and represent the firm in all interactions with clients, architects, contractors, and project stakeholders. You’ll lead project teams, oversee coordination efforts, and ensure work is delivered with technical rigor, efficiency, and accountability.
Key responsibilities include:

Serving as Engineer of Record and leading project coordination meetings

Supervising, mentoring, and evaluating engineering staff

Assigning and overseeing system design and project engineering tasks

Establishing and maintaining design standards, specifications, and criteria

Participating in budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and workload planning

Managing construction administration activities, including RFIs, field reports, bulletins, and addenda

Overseeing preparation of system analyses, reports, and technical documentation

Supporting technical training initiatives and staff development programs

Preparing proposals and administering project contracts, including additional services

Coordinating with accounting on invoicing and monitoring accounts receivable

Contributing to firmwide technical committees and knowledge-sharing initiatives
What We’re Looking For
This is a senior-level role requiring deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and experience delivering complex projects.
Required qualifications include:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution

Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
-
12+ years of experience in an MEP consulting engineering environment

7+ years of project management experience
-
3+ years of people management or supervisory experience

Healthcare project experience (required)

Experience across sectors such as healthcare, federal, critical facilities, commercial, or aviation preferred

Strong hands-on design background with proficiency in CAD and Revit

Ability to lead technically while remaining actively involved in design and problem-solving
