Job Title: Project Superintendent

Supervises: 5-Star Casino and Hotel Flooring Installation & Slot/Game Move Crews

Reports: Project Manager

Location: Nationwide (Travel Required - 80%)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Superintendent to oversee High-end Casino and Resort Carpet Installation Projects, as well as slot and game move crews across the United States and Caribbean. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing flooring installation and game-move crews, ensuring quality workmanship, adhering to project timelines, and maintaining strong communication with the office project management team, general contractors (GCs), as well as property owners. Additionally, the Superintendent will be accountable for project P&L (Profit and Loss) management and achieving team productivity results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate carpet installation crews and slot/game move teams on-site, ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure safety compliance.
  • Operate the Mapping Equipment (Hilti Total Station) to perform precise surveying and measurement tasks for the projects.
  • Collaborate daily with project managers, designers, GCs, property owners, and clients to understand project requirements and expectations.
  • Maintain a detailed schedule of installation and game-move activities, managing resources efficiently to meet deadlines and cost objectives.
  • Motivate and manage crews, fostering a positive and productive work environment while promoting teamwork, productivity, and accountability.
  • Provide training and guidance to installation and game-move crews, showcasing best practices in craftsmanship and safety.
  • Inspect completed work and conduct quality assurance checks to ensure MFC standards are met.
  • Manage project documentation, including reports, schedules, and compliance records.
  • Analyze and report on Project P&L (Profit and Loss) statements, ensuring projects remain within budget and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Track and report productivity results to assess crew performance and overall project efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, GCs, and property owners, addressing any concerns or feedback promptly.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and installation techniques to enhance service delivery.
  • Travel to sites prior to work start to confirm site readiness, accuracy of contracted scope, material inventories, owner furnished goods, and any other items required by the project staff.
  • Liaise with customer stakeholders regarding any problems, concerns, or “at risk” issues that may involve or affect Mastercraft’s scope of work, to include MFC project staff as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Superintendent or similar role in Commercial (Construction) carpet installation and slot/game relocations, preferably in 5-Star Facilities.
  • Functional expertise in carpet installation techniques, materials, and safety standards, along with experience in managing multi-faceted teams.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills. Ability to motivate and inspire small to large crews located on multiple project sites.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in project P&L (Profit and Loss) management and productivity analysis.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with GCs and property owners, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Ability to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including weekends as needed.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in flooring, construction management, or project management preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Superintendent (or similar role) in commercial construction and/or casino & hotel remodeling required. Experience in carpeting and resilient flooring preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Certifications in commercial flooring, construction management, or project management preferred.
