Primary Function: Provide overall on-site administrative and technical management on construction project site under the guidance of the Project Manager.
Typical Duties:
1. Workers should understand that duties change often.
2. Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, architect/engineer representatives, other
contractors, AHJ’s, etc.
3. Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions (scheduling, material control, permit requirements and possibly coordination of day-to-day direction of on-site staff).
4. Maintain agreeable working conditions with others and deal with people in actual job duties beyond giving and receiving instructions.
5. See details and detect errors in numbers, spelling and punctuation in written materials, charts or tables. See details in objects or drawings and recognize differences in shapes, shadings and materials. Understand ideas and present information clearly.
6. Maintain daily logs including, but not limited to, manpower logs, daily activities, weather conditions, timecards for staff employees, equipment logs, etc.
7. Maintain complete set of as-built plans by redlining/detailing any changes made on the current set of construction documents.
8. Supervise craft employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract.
9. Provide technical assistance, i.e. interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc. as required.
10. Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
11. Maintain knowledge of all OSHA standards. Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations and notify project management,
then recommend/implement correction actions as required.
12. Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts and staff, efficient use of materials and equipment and construction performance of the project.
13. Physically workers must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction), speak and hear, use hands to reach for, handle and feel object in some work disciplines, and climb on things while maintaining balance.
14. Perform additional assignments per Project Manager’s direction.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
- Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
- Minimum of five years of construction management and/or craft supervision experience in similar facility construction.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations; engineering, cost control schedules and safety required.
- Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills essential.
