Our client is a full service, design-build contractor and they are looking for a Field Project Manager to join their team, based in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire.
Your #1 responsibility in this position is to manage the manpower needed to produce quality work that is consistent with the project's scope of work.
It sounds simple, but we know in this competitive marketplace how hard that can be - every subcontractor is busy and keeping a project on time and budget while managing quality control is no easy feat.
The requirements of the job are what you would expect of a typical Superintendent position, just with a different title. You will provide the knowledge, skills, and experience required to manage the day-to-day field operations of commercial construction projects.
A Field Project Manager is responsible for the production aspects of the work and will be accountable for:
- producing work outlined in the project contract documents
- for performing the work in a timely and cost-effective manner
- for maintaining a work environment that is safe and continuously kept clean and orderly
Field Project Managers are responsible for establishing a professional work environment that includes: fostering a positive atmosphere, promoting proactive and effective communication, facilitating problem-solving and, for minimizing and resolving conflict in a constructive manner.
In short, your main task will be to provide the managerial and leadership skills necessary to accomplish the work by means of subcontractors.
Projects vary from mixed-use retail developments, large scale parking garages, apartment complexes to mid-rise hotels, just to name a few. You won't be stuck building condo after condo after condo here. Given the varied nature of the projects, desirable candidates will be very knowledgeable in steel and concrete construction.
There will be a travel component to this position, and you will be compensated well with hazard pay that is based on miles traveled from your home. There is great earning potential in this model. While traveling, you will always stay in furnished housing of a high standard.
We've worked with this client for years and can honestly say they're a great place to work. They expect their employees to work hard but in return, they provide them with a great working environment and a healthy compensation/benefits package, especially considering they are paying MASS money if you live in NH!
