Structural Engineer/FEA Analyst
JOB TITLE: Structural Engineer/ FEA Analyst
REPORTS TO: Senior Structural Engineering Manager
JOB SUMMARY: Develops custom designs, new products, and analysis process for structural product lines. Completes finite analysis on structural components and systems. To collaborate with an international team of structural engineers.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering. Master’s degree is preferred. Experience with engineering analysis software such as Risa or Scia, or other structural engineering analysis software. Experience with advanced engineering analysis software such as Abaqus or ANSYS. Experience with 3D parametric design software (Solidworks is currently used) is a plus. 4+ years of Engineering experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
* Uses proven structural engineering techniques to complete projects
* Develops new design and process techniques
* Produces consistent, accurate, and timely results while working independently with minimal guidance.
* Interpret and implement design codes (USA codes: IBC, AISC, AISI or Eurocode or other)
* Performs and directs required calculations for the design of complete projects
* Reviews designs and calculations performed by others
* Creates computer analysis models (RISA or SCIA)
* Identifies and uses proper FEA techniques to adequately simulate system behavior.
* Presents accurate results to team members and collaborates on design changes.
* Plans and manages physical tests, optimizes design based on results.
* Answers question from sales personnel and customers
* Visit Customer’s sites to evaluate applications and issues
* Limited travel required (<10%) domestic and international
* Provide unparalleled personal attention to meeting the needs of our customers.
