Strategic Sourcing Specialist

Operational Strategic Sourcing:

  • Supporting the Procurement of goods and services to the Company NA business and APAC business when required;
  • Maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and work with them to identify opportunities, deliver improved cost and quality and ensure category strategy and its implementation is aligned with the overall business strategy and policies;
  • Supplier relationships and contract management:
    • Supporting the delivery and contribution to business improvement Programs;
    • Manages interaction with key global / regional suppliers;
    • Ensure for the agreed preferred suppliers category agreements are in place;
    • Ensure that suppliers contracts are always timely renewed and obtained via process guaranteeing best commercial conditions for Company; and
    • Leads the RFI/RFP processes and lead the negotiations with suppliers.

Category Management:

  • Develop category strategies in alignment with the business requirements and with the buy in of the internal key stakeholders;
  • Sourcing of National and Regional specific Categories (including capital, assets, maintenance, repairs and operational commodities, other indirect goods and services) with an emphasis on asset management, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and operational requirements;
  • Category leadership of managed spend which may include National and/or Global Categories;
  • Category data stewardship, reports and KPI’s:
    • Monitor and gathers spend data from various sources (ERP, BI, supplier info, etc.);
    • Track performance within the category and define budgetary impact; and
    • Captures financial savings through insights and analysis.

Minimum experience requirements

  • Several years’ experience in a capital project procurement / operational procurement / commercial role within a large, multi-site organization;
  • Technical qualifications in Trade, Engineering, Business Commerce, Law or similar background (preferred);
  • Exposure to the sourcing of Capital works and/or Repair and Maintenance related services;
  • Demonstrated experience in contractor engagement, negotiation and management;
  • Category knowledge and expertise;
  • Demonstrated experience in working across diverse supply markets;
  • Complex Problem Solving and analytical skills to apply in a commercial environment;
  • Advance MS Excel skills;
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at various levels in the organization; and
  • Collaborative service mindset and people focus to meet stakeholders needs.
