Position Summary: |
The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, initiating and administering supply agreements, as well as managing supply chain relationships with external providers of solvents and packaging components. |
Essential Duties: |
· Develop and execute sourcing while ensuring alignment with overall business strategy · Evaluate and enforce quality standards, logistics, and supply chain policies with external providers · Maintain departmental procedures to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 quality systems and other quality systems as applicable · Serve as Lead to address any Supplier corrective actions · Maintain and evaluate Suppliers for proper approval/qualifications including but not limited to Supplier Questionnaires or onsite audits · Manage and review monthly PPV to budgetary targets · Monitor and report on activities and trends as it related to the Raw Materials and Freight; communicate and interface with leadership and ownership of the organization in a timely manner · Proactively initiate and pursue cost reduction activities · Provide instruction, direction, and support to tactical buyers as needed to ensure continuity of day-to-day plant activities · Other duties as assigned |
Success Criteria: |
· Lead all tactical and strategic procurement activities, while maintaining budgeted PPV ranges and delivering year-over-year gross profit improvement · Participate and contribute in Company’s SI&OP using this information to execute the Tactical & Strategic sourcing activities. · Maintain inventory levels to ensure 0 stock-outs while still adhering to budgetary targets · Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of Purchasing including but not limited to higher quality, lower prices on materials/freight, shortened lead times, and favorable payment terms. · Ensure contingency plans for single-sourced items. This can include appropriate stock levels, BCP creation with the supplier as well as a second-source strategy. · Maintain employee retention and documented professional development plans for direct reports |

Preferred Education and Experience: |
· Familiarity with sourcing/supply chain of key solvents: Acetonitrile, Methanol, Toluene, Pentane, Dichloromethane, Chloroform, Hexane 95%, etc. · Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Systems; experience—with cGMP (pharmaceutical) · Project Management experience · SAP MRP experience |

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. Some of the work will require exposure to loud noises or fumes in the plant facility.
